Hi, in the latest podcast, you were telling the story of Mary, who said she knew 6 months in advance when someone was gonna die. I read about yogi's who know this exact same thing in the same timeframe, they explain that about 6 months before someone dies a part of their energy leaves them. It sounds exactly like what Mary was talking about, maybe this comment helps her to understand what she is feeling, and that she doesn't have to be afraid of it, it seems to be a normal thing.

Deep Dark Hole

I'm a healthcare provider at an outpatient office, and this didn't happen to me, but it is a story relayed to me from one of my patients. I don't have any reason to doubt its veracity, since he actually avoids anything paranormal themed because of this event, and doesn't like hearing scary stories, much less recounting this one.

When he was a little kid, he used to play at his grandmother's house a lot. He of course loved to go see her and didn't argue about going, but her house still never felt right to him. He had a lot of unusual experiences there that convinced him the place was haunted. In one instance, he was laying in bed one night, when he looked up and saw a stern, black male in a military uniform move past his bedroom door. The apparition stopped to look in at him before gliding back down the hallway. He thought it looked exactly like his dad who was actually in the military, except his dad had been overseas at the time.

Basically, a lot happened in the house, but there was one room in particular that was the worst, and that of course was the basement. The following was the scariest experience he ever had in that house.

Before his grandmother moved in, the house had been owned by members of a Satanic cult who had used the basement to perform their rituals. In the middle of the basement on the floor, was a large white circle of chalk that had remained there even after his grandmother moved in. She didn't use the basement for much except storage. As a kid, he would go down there a lot by himself to play.

One time he went down there to play and noticed something odd. In the middle of the basement where the white circle should have been, was a deep, black hole. The space inside the white circle was literally missing, like someone had drilled a large, perfectly round hole through the concrete and into the earth. It surprised and spooked him right away, he was already uneasy just looking at it from the stairway; but being a little kid, he was still curious. He went down there and scooted up to the edge. He peered down into the hole, trying to see where it went or if anything was inside. He said what disturbed him the most was that the hole went so deep, he couldn't see the bottom. If he could just figure out where the bottom was, he could feel less disturbed by it. He looked for some small objects to drop inside and test its depth. He started with pennies, then small stones, then larger stones. Nothing he dropped into the hole would make a sound, no matter how big or how heavy. As strange as it sounds, it seemed to be bottomless. Scared, he went upstairs and never played down there again.

He found out later as an adult, that his grandmother now has a locked bolt on the basement door, and forbids anyone from going down there. She has a lot of her things in storage down there, a few of which she has needed to retrieve, like old records and important files, but she refuses to unlock the basement door for anything, no matter what. He's asked her, but she refuses to explain why. He's requested to go down there and get some things himself from her basement, or get her own things for her, but she won't let him either.

Personally, I don't think locking the door necessarily made her that much safer...and that's because of this: The only other odd thing that happened to him in the basement was an instance where a stack of boxes suddenly crashed over by themselves, causing him to run upstairs in fright. Sometime later a similar event happened in the upstairs closet, there was a loud crash and everything in the closet had just fallen down. It turned out later that there was a chute or a door in the closet that led down to the basement. So, whatever was down there had, and still has, a backdoor upstairs through the closet, and sometimes it comes up.

The question of course remains...in a house that was already pretty thoroughly haunted, what happened that made grandma decide to permanently lock the basement door, and refuse to talk about it? Did she discover the hole too? Was it something worse than the hole? Did something come out of the hole?

It's a mystery. Whatever it is, it's still there.
